Not sure what you were expecting. And while she is indeed showing signs of brilliance as well--she is still not quite a year old. I'm thinking maybe next month she'll be discussing dragons. But for now, Dakota T. Dog is her favorite stuffed animal. And as you can probably deduce--the love affair is pretty much one sided.

In the middle of my personal chaos, I love to keep up with your blog. Not much energy to make comments, but I wanted to let you know I'm still reading!!

LOL...Dakota looks a lot like my Dakota, except my Dakota was a bit whiter. BEAUTIFUL DOG! My Yukki's ears don't stand so pretty anymore because Kiara decided to BREAK them during a fight, not once, not twice, but thrice and the third time they never recovered :o(

I can't attest for the brilliance of your little one as I have never met her, but she sure is a pretty little thing just like her momma :o)

Gina, I remember Amy asking if it was Akita "Code" to name them Dakota since the only two she knew were both Dakota!

It was really touch and go the first year we had him--just wasn't sure he was going to mellow out(we rescued him from an abusive situation when he was 3). But he has really morphed into a wonderful dog!

That's the way it is at our house, too. Dylan terrorizes Chloe dog and she avoids him as much as possible. Chloe tolerates Cooper's friendly advances and will allow a tail-pull or two. She is NOT a 'kid friendly' dog but even tho she'll snap at them when she's had her fill, she's never intentionally bit them. She nipped Dylan once on the end of the nose and he howled, outraged, but we'd warned him and warned him. Now he respects her space a LITTLE bit more but can still give her grief. She spends most of the hours when they're at our house perched up on her blanket on the top of the couch, curled into a ball. Whether she's sleeping or sulking, we haven't figured out yet, ha!
