Not old...just older

All right, so I stole that from Bon Jovi (Crush Island Records 2000) but it's certainly how I'm feeling right now.

A former classmate of mine just set up a group on Facebook in an attempt to begin the incredibly arduous task of organizing our class's 20 year reunion. Now, doesn't that make me sound old?! But I really don't feel like I graduated from high school almost twenty years ago.

The entire RVA graduating class of 1989...can you find me?

Yep...I'm the one that looks positively giddy! Ignore the hair--it was the 80's.

I remember meeting a couple that summer and the man, upon finding out I had just graduated from high school, mentioned when he himself had graduated. To which I proclaimed--"Oh, that was the year I was born!" From the look on his face, that probably wasn't something I should have said out loud. (I'm still working on that--what gets said out loud and what is best that I keep to myself.) So now I find myself on the flip side of that situation--and even older than he was at the time! Thinking back on that now, it really doesn't make me feel old.

What did make me feel old was the day I received my college diploma--fourteen years after I started (I got a little distracted along the way). My sister pointed out that one of my classmates was a former student of hers--and not from her first year of teaching either. Yes, I felt a little ancient that day!

Ha, at least you graduated college. I have two pending bachelor degrees just waiting to be finished. I'm only six classes away from one and I think 12 or so with the other. I started back in 93 right after I graduated. I think I'll just make it a life long career.

Hope you had a great weekend.

And old... yes ma'am I think we are sometimes. Here's what makes me feel old thinking about the reunion.
If I manage to go, my daughter will be the same age I was when you saw me last!! Does that make me postively ancient or WHAT?????!!!!
