If you're the praying kind...

please take a moment and do so...

Word on the street is that the ICC is making their decision on whether or not to go through with the arrest warrant on Wednesday 4 pm Sudan time (9 am EST). Of course threats of reciprocating violence have been made. Because that's an effective way to make a point--welcoming violence with violence. It's worked so well in the past.

And, yes, I have a personal interest in the situation. I would like for my children to have their grandparents around for quite a bit longer, thankyouverymuch!

Oh my! Of course I'll pray! I have a bloggy friend in Scotland who's originally from S. Africa and she still has a son there and one in Zimbabwe and the governments are making it almost impossible for them to get out. My friend Cari barely made it out of SA without much more than her suitcase! These are very scary times we're living in, no matter where we're at. My younger brother and his wife were in Africa last year to visit one of the gorilla reserves and armed guards escorted their group to the site. Too much civil unrest in Sudan at that time, which was just across the hills from where they were, if my memory serves me right. You couldn't PAY me enough to travel anywhere right now. America's in enough upheaval all on its own!

Just to give an update--the ICC did make the decision to serve the warrant but for the lesser charge of Crimes against humanity and war crimes instead of genocide.

Had an email from my dad and he and my mom are on their way elsewhere for other things for a while.

Please just continue keeping the nation in your thoughts and prayers. The government has evicted a number of humanitarian and aide groups from where they are needed most.
