Let's carve pumpkins tonight! Yea!
After all, it is an activity that falls under Messy and Uses Sharp Instruments.
How could it not be fun?!

Fascinating, isn't it? How one little ol' photograph can give an authentic representation of this chaotic, always on the move household! You just missed the cat...he scampered on by hoping to be ignored by the short ones.

Roaring at the Jack-O-Lantern...
important to establish dominance with these creatures!

Just one picture, please, where both children are looking
at the same camera--they don't even have to smile.
Just show me a face turned in my direction!

Ah, see...much better! Thank you.

(Yes, I realize I had my daughter out in the chilly evening without socks.
She would like you to know that socks do not go on feet
and would thank you very much to stop putting them there.
Same applies to shoes.)

At last. A pair of willing and co-operative subjects...um...models.

My grandson Dylan and his Mama carved a pumpkin last nite. I guess he lost interest once she started scooping out the slimey insides, haha! I think he knows where every pumpkin/jack o' lantern within 5 miles of our house is located, depending on which way our walks take us. He is just NUTS about pumpkins. It must be the bright orange that catches his eye.

Isn't it awful how it is our job, as parents, to commemorate each special moment with at least one good photograph, no matter how dysfunctional the special moment was? We do this for the sake of posterity, so they will see that we really did have our traditions and fun and our loving bonds. Silly people, aren't we, to care so much?

Looks like you had a great halloween! I wish I'd thought of getting Small Sprog to cut his up on the floor, much easier to get the mess sorted afterwards!
Lovely pic of your two (and the pumpkins!)
Did you do lots of 'sharp intakes of breath' when they were whelding the knives?!! I certainly did. And a few (shouting) 'JUST HOLD ON A MINUTE's! Oh, it's a tricky business ;)
