Here comes the sun...or, more ways to wear out my children...

The local children's museum has a really great sand and water backyard. Huge sandbox and a winding river with fountains spraying along the way. On a hot August morning--it's just the thing! And please forgive the phonecam pictures.

Lots and lots of other mommies had the same idea!

Oh, and for those keeping track...we've survived two weeks without Daddy just fine--albeit lonely--and have four left to go.

Hang in there Dori!!! I'm sure you are doing a great job and just think, when hubby returns you will be due some time to yourself FO SHO!!! This looks like alot of fun. Anything to keep em busy and wear em out, right?!?!?!

How I wish you lived nearby so we could pack your two and my two up and head to the park nearby so the 4 of them could play to their hearts' content in the water! I don't see other grandmas doing what I do but, for some reason, I think you and I would do just fine together, Dori! Sometimes it's a very lonely place to be as a stay-at-home Grandma. I need to start a Club for those here in Portland...we just don't fit in with the 20-30-somethings.

Dori, time will fly.
At least when it isn't dragging.

Hang in there.

Thanks, girlies! I think we're we're going to make it! :D Besides, grandparents are back in town next week and taking kiddos for a night or two. Whatever shall I do? (that's a rhetorical question...I've got one or two ideas!) We're also spending the last week at the beach with my sister and her family. Not exactly hardship!

Looks like you're getting in a bit of fun along with all the hard work! Wish we were geographically closer, I'd be more than happy to kidnap you for an evening on the town while the grandparents are babysitting! (Although the thought of the two of us on the loose might terrify both Sean and Athos! LOL)

Dang geography and laws of physics! :D

Miss Pawses, I thought you were driving this way some time soon?

Glad to hear all is going well, 6 weeks is a long time but you're nearly halfway! That looks a beautiful way to pass the time with your children, takes me back.......
