It's like I'm stuck in a really bad Good news/bad news joke...

Bad news...your husband does, indeed, have a debilitating, life altering and incurable disease which he will be on Kick Him in the Booty medication for the rest of his life so he may remain employed and upright...

Good news...we realized after going back over the paperwork and redoing physicals that it's our bad and so we'll go ahead and send him a fairly large check every month for the inconvenience of being a disabled veteran...

Good news... you, on the other hand, are actually quite healthy....

Bad news...even with all of the lengthy, sometimes painful and expensive tests we've performed on you over the past couple of weeks, we still can't figure out what's wrong with you...

Bad news... your husband is leaving on Sunday for a six week long school--disrupting the delicate status quo of the household...

Good news...meh...I'm still working on that one...I'll get back to you when I figure out the punch line...

Good news: You have a husband. One that loves you. He has a job. You have US. (OK, that last one is stretching it a bit... we're not exactly a big prize, but still...)

But the biggest one: You have your faith. It would be a scary place without it.

Peace to you my friend. Email if you want to complain or cry.

Six weeks? I'm crying after one. We are currently on Day 2 of just such a week.

ML, yes...the irony is just sickening! There are a good number of wives who would be all...6 weeks? Whoohoo! I have to have the one who is an amazing partner, whom I am madly in love with and who spoils me rotten! Yeah--I'm crying.

But, hey, if you feel the need for an Eastern vacation I could rustle up an air mattress! Because Virginia in August is so appealing...

Mel...you know I feel your pain! But you have the reunion and a beach vacation to look forward to!! We're totally crashing my sister's beach vacation the week before Sean comes back.

Gee, now I'm thinking my life doubly-sux because I have a partner I'm madly in love with (after 24 years even) who doesn't even come CLOSE to spoiling me and who I just tried to convince that it was indeed a good idea for him to go to Afghanistan for a year as a computer forensics guy. Which he didn't do, since the department wouldn't hold the job, but I was supportive darnit! Maybe I was just trying to get out of debt. :)

How about if you come to the PacNW instead. I hated Virginia. Too many trees and not enough mountains.

psst...two little ones...tttwwwwoooo...slightly different situation. And, um, isn't there a war on over there? And, wowie, that's a lot of money! Sure he won't go for it?

clarification...the traveling bit is a different situation (me with two, you all by yourself)...time away from loved ones sucks no matter the situation!

Wait ... your husband has a disease? Did I miss something?

I'd hate my hubby to be gone 6 weeks and all our babies have fur on them. And a year? In a country where there is a war on? I'm supportive wife but I'd kick his ass if he suggested it!

Sorry there has to be any bad news at 'tall.

CW...after several years of his arthritis progressively getting worse, last August Sean was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. Being an autoimmune disease he is on an autoimmune suppressant--chemotherapy lite. If you've ever read his blog then you know that it really doesn't slow him down much, but it does give us all just one more thing to deal with. It's always something!

And I was just whining. Miss ML gave me a much needed dose of quitcherbitchin'. :D

You have my sympathies, and if I didn't have two little ones as well, I'd be over for girl/mommy/cop wife talk in a heartbeat!

Hubs is always working or training, but while he was away at the academy for 10 weeks, he made the 8 hour trip home every weekend (4 hours both ways) in the Rocky Mountain winter, so I've been spoiled as well!
